...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS
EVENING...
* WHAT...Snow and areas of blowing snow. Additional snow
accumulations up to one inch, but locally higher in very narrow
snow bands. Winds gusting as high as 40 to 60 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, southwest
Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, and central, east central, south
central, and southeast South Dakota.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Falling and blowing
snow will lead to areas of quick and sudden reductions to
visibility, making travel difficult, especially in rural areas
that are prone to blowing snow. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. Strong winds could
cause tree damage.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong winds and snow showers will result in
visibilities as low as one half mile at times. Visibility and road
conditions may change rapidly over short distances.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by
calling 5 1 1.
